Mrs. Hanaa Rashid is from Halifax, Nova Scotia (NS) and holds a Master of Education (MEd) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) and is a registered social worker. Alhamdulillah, Hanaa has been married for 36 years and is a mother of two adult daughters. Hanaa has volunteered in the Halifax community for over 20 years. Since completing her MSW degree, she has worked in various settings: hospitals, community centres, settlement services and schools. She has a special interest in supporting parents and children and some of her professional trainings include evidence based parenting programs. She uses a holistic approach when working with clients and also takes into consideration the cultural contexts which affect individuals and families.
Hanaa is a trained restorative practices facilitator and believes in the power of restorative conversations for fostering relationships, resolving conflicts and building communities.
Presently she is working as a clinical associate with Serene Heart Counseling and is also a therapist with the Naseeha Web therapy platform.
